Gingko biloba
Height 420 mms x Width 330 mms
This painting was an absolute joy to work on. The Gingko, commonly known as the Maidenhair tree, is the oldest tree on earth and has been referred to as a living fossil, having not evolved at all over some 200 million years. It appears to have no extant "relatives", being a single species on its own. While the leaves presented no problem to paint, the fruit was more of a challenge due to their very pungent smell.
