This Bunch of Rhubarb was painted over a total of 736 hours. Although not large in terms of size, the work was very finely executed to achieve the intensity of colour, which required many layers of coloured washes and many more layers of dry brush work. After much thought, the bunch was bound together with the dried leaves of home-grown garlic.
