Tulip Siris (Pararchidendron pruinosum)
Height 8.9 cms x Width 7.3 cms
This very small painting took over 40 hours to complete. I was asked to contribute work to the 2018 exhibition "Botanical Art World-Wide: The Flora of Australia," which will be in Canberra. I searched for something unusual to paint when a student gave me a seed pod of Pararchidendron pruinosum, commonly known as Tulip Siris. The spirals and colours of this seed pod were fascinating and it was so interesting to paint.
