Painting an anemone has been a long held dream, encapsulating as it does such a glorious velvet quality in both the petals and the intricate pattern of deep purple, almost black stamens. The leaves contrast interestingly. They are not shiny, but have a reflection of the colour of the flower in the green pigments. In bud, the leaves are almost an extension of the flower, but as it grows the leaves come into their own forming a delicate divided structure upon which the flower rests. |
